This month’s topic is Space adventures.
Space, stars, planets, the moon and beyond!
This theme offers endless activities and learning, your child will participate in activities to enhance their
understanding of the world as well as engaging in imaginative play with their peers.
The new vocabulary introduced throughout this topic will help develop your child’s communication and
language skills which can then be strengthened at home using our suggested activities and reading materials.
Did you know……… Space Day was instituted in 1997 and is celebrated the first day of May.
On July 1969, Commander Neil Armstrong became the first man on the moon.Apollo 11 blasted off on July 16,
1969. Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Michael Collins were the astronauts on Apollo 11. Four days
later, Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the moon. They landed on the moon in the Lunar Module.
